This year, our team is participating in the 2026 ALS Canada Revolution Ride in support of people living with ALS and their families.  We are riding for the many people who live and have passed away with ALS.  We honour our dad, Dedo and Uncle Jerry and our mom and Aunt Marisela.  

Jerry lived with ALS for many years, yet he never allowed the disease to define him. He continued to cheer on his grandchildren, support his family and remain actively involved in the Slovenian community through his volunteer work. Despite the challenges he faced, Jerry never complained, choosing instead to live each day with strength, dignity and unwavering positivity.

Similarly, Marisela, who was recently diagnosed with ALS, continues to face her journey with remarkable courage and optimism. She approaches each day with a positive attitude, never complaining and is heroically embracing the challenges of living with the disease. Her resilience and determination are an inspiration to everyone around her.

Your support will help to: 

• Further scientific progress by investing in the national ALS Canada Research Program. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
• Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Ontario – such as home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment.  J
